Cincoze’s customer is a well-known oil and gas equipment manufacturer in Northern Europe, known for its leading technology in production, drilling, and processing. To optimize the efficiency and safety of the smart drilling system and promote a better and faster drilling process, the company used the Cincoze DS-1402 embedded computer as its monitoring and computing core. They chose the DS-1402 because it can connect to all the sensors and instantly analyze the received data, and it has a rugged design that allows it to operate stably without being affected by severe vibration and temperature changes in the drilling environment.

Real-time Monitoring and Data Analysis
In automated drilling processes, the accuracy of data collection and analysis is critical. Our customer needed an industrial PC that could plug in a GPU card for edge computing and real-time data analysis to help operators make quick and accurate decisions.
Multiple I/O and Storage Options
Our customer needed the computer to connect to various sensors and devices to collect data. The industrial PC must have a variety of I/O interfaces and preferably have flexible expansion capabilities. The PC also needed large capacity storage space and high-speed storage to meet the varying data storage needs of different applications.
Durable and Reliable
The drilling environment is harsh, and industrial PCs must be able to operate predictably under extreme temperatures, severe shock, and constant vibration. The computer needs to be extremely durable and rugged to reduce the number of repairs and ensure long-term stable operation.

When this project started in 2017, the DS-1102 was the system of choice, so when it came time to upgrade, the intercompatibility within the Cincoze range meant that the DS-1402 could be easily substituted, providing a much-needed performance boost. Due to its fixed size, volume, and locking hole positions, customers do not need to redesign their systems when upgrading, and existing CMI modules are fully compatible, significantly reducing costs and unnecessary expenditures during upgrades.
Superior Computing Power
The Cincoze DS-1402 is equipped with a 13th/12th generation Core™ i9/i7/i5/i3 (Raptor Lake-S/Alder Lake-S) processor and supports up to 64GB DDR5 ECC SO-DIMM memory at 4800MHz. Two PCIe expansion slots support GPU cards for enhanced computing capabilities and efficient data analysis. The DS-1402 can instantly receive pressure, temperature, flow, and other data collected by sensors underground and above the well, and perform edge computing and display the analysis results. This allows operators to quickly react and adjust to prevent or control potential well control events.
Rich I/O and Expansion
The DS-1402 has rich I/O interfaces and expansion capabilities, so it can connect to a variety of equipment used for smart drilling. Two COM ports and eight USB ports make it easy to connect pressure sensors, temperature sensors, flow meters, and other devices. There is the option to expand the system and add LAN, COM, and DIO through Cincoze's exclusive CMI module. Storage support includes 2.5" HDD/SSD, mSATA, and M.2 Key M slots, as well as options for RAID 0/1/5/10 that can be used according to specific application requirements. To provide immersive data display on multiple screens, the DS-1402 has 1x VGA, 2x DisplayPort, and 1x HDMI ports. And there are three Mini PCIe slots for wireless communication modules or other I/O expansion.

The DS-1402 inherits the ruggedness and durability features of the Cincoze lineup, such as wide temperature (-40 to 70°C) and wide voltage (9V-48VDC) support; overvoltage, overcurrent and ESD protection; and compliance with US military shock and vibration standard MIL-STD-810G and internationally recognized UL 62368-1 safety certification to ensure stable operation in harsh environments.
