Cincoze DX-1100: The Brain Behind Autonomous Mining Vehicles

Accelerating developments in autonomous driving and smart mining technologies are making autonomous mining trucks the driving force behind modern mining’s digital transformation. These trucks, equipped with autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance features, collaborate with one another and are remotely monitored, allowing them to operate without a driver in any weather condition.

Cincoze’s client is a well-known smart mining system integrator in Asia, specializing in automated vehicles for mines and integrated solutions for smart equipment, including autonomous mining trucks. They selected the DX-1100 as the computing core of their autonomous mining trucks to improve overall production efficiency and achieve 24/7 uninterrupted operation. Through precise route planning, it effectively saves fuel and operating costs.

Product requirements

High performance and compact size

The embedded computer in the autonomous mining truck must have high-performance computing to handle and analyze large amounts of data from various sensors in real-time. This helps the truck to navigate accurately and stay aware of its surroundings. At the same time, limited installation space means the computer must be compact and easy to install.

Vehicle I/O and wireless communication support

The embedded computer must communicate with vehicle sensors, cameras, control units, and other equipment in real time. This means it must have multiple sets of M12 LAN interfaces and PoE support, as well as support for satellite positioning, wireless communication, and CAN Bus for remote monitoring, fleet management, and data feedback.

Tough enough for the harsh mining environment

The embedded computer must be exceptionally durable and certified for vehicle use to endure the extreme temperature fluctuations, rough terrain, and significant dust exposure in the mine. It should also be equipped to handle potential voltage instability or sudden power outages that may occur during vehicle startup or shutdown, ensuring consistent and reliable operation under these challenging conditions.

Why Cincoze?

Cincoze DX-1100 The Brain Behind Autonomous Mining Vehicles,Why Cincoze?

High performance and compact

The Cincoze DX-1100 is a high performance and compact embedded computer, measuring just 242 x 173 x 77 mm. Despite its small size, it delivers outstanding computing and processing performance, supporting 9th and 8th generation Intel® Xeon® and Core™ processors and up to 64 GB of memory, making it capable of handling the extensive data analysis and decision-making needs of autonomous mining trucks.

Rich I/O and extensive expandability

The DX-1100 has a variety of I/O ports for connecting to sensors and LiDAR systems, as well as M12 LAN with PoE for connecting to cameras. Mini PCIe slots support 4G, GNSS, and CAN Bus modules, enabling wireless connections, real-time positioning, or two-way communication with the vehicle's ECU. The IGN function supports delayed power-on and power-off settings to ensure stable system operation and data integrity.

Rugged reliability and 24/7 stable operation

The DX-1100 features a fanless and cable-less design that enhances system stability by preventing dust from entering and minimizing the risk of vibrations loosening wires. Its comprehensive industrial-grade protections include a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to 70°C), wide range input voltage support (9 to 48V), and anti-vibration protections (50G/5G), so it can operate reliably in the harsh conditions of mining environments. It meets E-Mark vehicle certification and EN 62368-1 safety regulations, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility and operational safety, providing long-term and dependable protection for autonomous mining vehicles.
