Cincoze Machine Vision Computer Benefits Robot Guidance Application
A vision-guided robot system is a robot fitted with cameras to provide feedback signals to the robot controller for accurate moves to a target position. It is changing the landscape of industrial manufacturing automation and makes manufacturers are taking a fresh look due to the advancements in accuracy and efficiency for machine vision technology.
One of our customers is an innovator in factory automation and provides vision-guided robot systems based on 3D vision technology. The company developed a new system for bin-picking applications in the smart factory to increase capacity and improve quality.
Customer's Requirements
This vision-guided robot system required an embedded computer that provided significant performance and high-bandwidth interfaces while remaining reliable and rugged. Based on the requirements of system integration, the computer needed to be compact and had a tolerance of shock/vibration to replace its existing 19-inch rackmount computer.
The lockable M12 PoE ports were necessary to connect industrial 3D cameras and simplify cabling. A GPU card and a motion control card also needed to be installed into this single computer for 3D video analytics and robot control.
Because of all these circumstances, our customer finally selected Cincoze DS-1202 rugged embedded computer to be the major controller of this project.
