As a leader in the engineering of machinery and system integration for the sugar industry, the company possesses rich experience in designing, manufacturing, and installing all machinery for processing refined beet and cane sugar. Thanks to IOT technology, the centrifugal machine, one product line in the company's industrial processing equipment, has evolved into an Ethernet-based automated system.

The centrifugal machine is connected to sensors, actuators, PLCs, and motion control systems. The staff at the sugar factory need to maximize production efficiency, optimize all connected devices, and enable predictive maintenance by on-site and remote data monitoring.

The machinery manufacturer finally selected Cincoze DA-1000 as the IOT gateway to bridge devices through the Internet and conduct analysis.

 

Customer's Demands


As an IoT gateway, an embedded computer plays a pivotal role that influences production management directly. An embedded computer should be installed very close to the centrifugal machine, which requires the computer to be compact in size with flexible mounting options.

An embedded computer collects data and signals from sensors and PLCs. Data can be displayed and analyzed on site, at the remote control room or the company’s ERP/MES. Thus, rich I/Os, and high-speed connectivity of embedded computers are required.

Like other IOT gateways in industrial applications, a desired embedded computer is designed with rugged features that supports operation in a wide temperature range, as well as high shock and vibration tolerance. These embedded computers should offer high durability to withstand harsh environments.

Compact Size

Cincoze DA-1000 can be easily fitted in any space and it supports diverse mounting options. It can be installed in a control cabinet’s back wall, door, or onto a DIN rail. The compact size makes DA-1000 ideal to be incorporated to any machinery or space constraint areas.

Industrial Connectivity

Packing a diverse array of I/O into its small form factor, DA-1000 features sufficient I/Os, such as two RS-232/422/485 ports, dual Gb LAN ports, four USB ports and one DVI-I port. Through Cincoze’s proprietary CMI interface, DA-1000 can be extended to various I/Os including COM, DIO, DisplayPort, DVI and LPT/PS2. The two Mini-PCIe sockets support add-on cards for wireless communication. The extensive industrial connectivity not only interconnects to peripherals, but also transmits data to any appointed cloud.

Industrial-grade Design

The Intel Atom® based DA-1000 is a rugged embedded system made of aluminum housing and is designed to withstand shock (50 G), vibration (5 G) and wide operating temperatures (-25°C ~ 70°C) for the demanding industrial environments. It is built with industrial components, featuring fanless/cable-less design, OVP (Over Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection) and ESD protections to inherit the ruggedness DNA of Cincoze Diamond product line.
